INPUT

Definition : any data and instructions entered into the memory of a computer

Input Methods

- Keyboard : device that contains keys users press to enter data and instructions into computer or mobile device

• An ergonomic keyboard has a design that reduces the chance of repetitive strain injuries
• Ergonomics incorporates comfort, efficiency, and safety into the design of the workplace

- Pointing devices : small symbol on the screen etc ; cursor

• Shape and location change as a user moves) 

Example : 

• Mouse - optical mouse, laser mouse, and touch mouse
• Touch pad - usually small, flat device (sensitive to pressure,motion)
• Trackball - stationary device with balloon (side or top)
• Pointing stick - pressure sensitive device (pencil eraser shaped like) between keys on computer keyboard

- Touch screens & pen input : flat surface to make selection, draw and any else through touch stylus/digital pen

Example :

• graphic tablet (digitizer)
• function : converts and detects movements of a style or digital pen into signals that are sent to the computer

- Motion input (gesture) : users guide on-screen elements through air gesture recognition

- Voice input : users speak into a microphone

• Voice/speech recognition capability of computer or mobile device to distinguish spoken words

- Video input : process of capturing full-motion images , stored in device's storage medium

Example : 

• webcam - digital video (DV) camera 
• video call / conduct video conference
• capture video/ image
• send email (video attachment)/broadcast in the internet

- Audio input : process of entering any sound into the computer

• Application : allow users to edit music/sounds effect (music production)

- Scanners (light sensing) : an reading devices on graphics and text, translates the result

• instead of similar function as copy machine, it creates file in memory

Optical mark recognition (OMR)

Example : 

• Mag stripe readers read the magnetic stripe on the back of cards
• QR code stores information in both a vertical and horizontal direction
• Bar code reader
• Optical character recognition (OCR)

          

OUTPUT

Definition : data that has been processed into a useful form

Output Methods

- Printer : produces characters text and graphics on a physical medium
  * Impact printers : form characters and graphics on a piece of paper by striking a
     mechanism against
     an inked ribbon that physically contacts the paper etc ; typewriter
  * Non impact printer : without contacting the paper (colour and black white)

Example : 

Ink-jet 

• Spraying tiny drops of liquid ink onto a piece of paper
• Speed is measured by the number of pages per minute (ppm) it can print

Laser 

• high speed
• high quality

Multi function / all in one

• prints
• scans
• copies
• faxes

Thermal

• generates images by pushing electrically heated pins against the heat-sensitive paper
• etc; photo kiosk

Mobile

• small
• lightweight
• battery powered
• allows users direct print from mobile device

Label

• small printer that prints on an adhesive-type material that can be placed on a variety of items

- Displays : conveys text, graphics, and video information visually

Example :

Monitor

• use a digital signal to produce a picture
• packaged as a separate peripheral device 
• etc; LCD
• should be plugged into (DVI , HDMI , Display) port
• highest quality images
• HDTV is the most advanced form of digital television
• etc; Smart TV

Sound speaker/ speaker system

• attach to their computer, game console, mobile device
• generate higher-quality sounds
• etc ; headphones , earphones

Data projecter

• project text or images that display on a computer/mobile device on a larger screen

Game controller

• include force feedback
• sends resistance to the device in response to actions of the user
• etc ; joysticks, wheels, game pads, and motion-sensing

Selain daripada perisian pemprosesan perkataaan dan lembaran kerja, pengguna juga perlu didedahkan berkenaan perisian persembahan elektronik yang memaparkan slaid sewaktu melaksanakan apa jua pembentangan sama ada formal atau tidak formal.

Di sini telah disertakan, proses yang berlangsung semasa mengendalikan fungsi yang terdapat dalam Microsoft Powerpoint.

Sebagai tugasan, saya bersama ahli kumpulan juga diarahkan untuk memanfaatkan fungi perisian ini untuk dipaparkan ketika pembentangan berkaitan pusat pelancongan yang terdapat di dalam Malaysia. Hasilnya telah saya sertakan di bawah. Selamat menonton.
